Warm white, neutral, or cool daylight? Understanding Kelvin (K) ratings helps you set the right mood and function for every room.

Ever bought a bulb that looked too blue, or too yellow, for the room? That is colour temperature at work. Measured in Kelvin (K), it describes whether a light looks warm and cosy or cool and crisp — and it has a big effect on how a room feels.

What the Kelvin numbers mean

RatingAppearanceBest for
3000KWarm white (soft, yellowish)Bedrooms, living rooms, restaurants
4000KNeutral white (balanced)Living rooms, dining, retail displays
6500KCool daylight (bright, crisp)Kitchens, bathrooms, offices, workshops
HEAVEN LED color temperatures and where they shine

3000K — Warm white

Warm white has a gentle, golden feel similar to a traditional bulb. It is relaxing and flattering, which makes it ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, and dining spaces where you want to unwind.

4000K — Neutral white

Neutral white sits between warm and cool. It feels clean without being clinical, so it works well in multi-purpose living and dining rooms, and in shops where products should look natural.

6500K — Cool daylight

Cool daylight is bright and energising, close to midday sunlight. It improves focus and makes colours look accurate, which is why it suits kitchens, bathrooms, offices, study areas, and workshops.

Mixing tip

Try to keep the same colour temperature within a single room so the light looks consistent. It is fine to use warm light in bedrooms and cool light in the kitchen — just avoid mixing them on the same ceiling.

Which should you choose?

  • Want a cosy, restful space? Choose 3000K warm white.
  • Want a clean, all-purpose look? Choose 4000K neutral.
  • Need bright, focused light for tasks? Choose 6500K daylight.

Most HEAVEN LED bulbs and panel lights are available in 6500K, 4000K, and 3000K, so you can match each room to its purpose. If you want the flexibility to change the mood, ask about our multicolour and WH+WW frameless panels.

बारम्बार सोधिने प्रश्नहरू

Which color temperature is best for the eyes?
For relaxing spaces, warm 3000K light is gentle in the evening. For reading, study, and detailed tasks, neutral to cool light (4000K–6500K) reduces strain by providing brighter, clearer illumination. The key is matching the light to the activity.
Is 6500K too bright for a bedroom?
Many people find 6500K daylight too stimulating for a bedroom, where the goal is to relax. Warm white 3000K or neutral 4000K is usually a more comfortable choice for bedrooms.
Does color temperature affect electricity use?
No. Colour temperature is about the appearance of the light, not power consumption. A 9W bulb uses the same energy whether it is 3000K or 6500K.
